About Kyobi Studio

Hi! my name is Fernando Franco and I’m a graphic designer and artist based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Kyobi Studio is my personal laboratory — a space where design, geometry, and light come together to explore form, balance, and perception.

As a designer, I’ve always been drawn to the intersection between structure and emotion — how something precise and minimal can still feel alive. Each piece I create is a study in how light transforms the surface and reveals new dimensions throughout the day.

What fascinates me most about this technique is that the artwork never stays still. As light changes, the piece shifts, breathes, and comes to life — it’s never the same twice.

Kyobi Studio was born from the desire to reconnect with the artistic side of my design work, to experiment beyond the screen and create tangible pieces that invite reflection and calm.

Every artwork is handcrafted with paper through geometric folding techniques, inspired by artists like Matt Shlian and Anna Krushelska. Each fold, each angle, is an invitation to pause and observe how light and form coexist in constant dialogue.

Kyobi represents the more decorative and accessible side of my creative process. A space to share smaller, intimate works that bring a sense of balance and serenity to living spaces. 

About Me

I’m Fernando Franco, a graphic designer based in Argentina, co-founder of the travel community @TripinArgentina and Kinkon Digital, a visual design and branding agency focused on digital communication.

After years of working in digital design, I began searching for a more artistic and tangible form of expression. That journey led me to paper sculpture and geometric folding and it was love at first sight.

Through Kyobi Studio, I channel my experience in design, composition, and visual storytelling into a slower, more contemplative practice — one that transforms geometry into emotion through light.
